Biculturalis a short film about a young Filipino-American woman who is struggling to assert her identity as a lesbian. Torn between her family’s strong traditions and living life on her terms, her worlds begin to collide; making her journey all the more challenging.
Rachel wrote and starred as the lead character and co-produced and co-directed the project with current CCH student, TC Smith. The short was inspired and based on a TV show. She is an accomplished actor in TV, Film, Commercial and Print work. Her heart is in the storytelling. By sharing her voice and vision with the masses, it allows her to convey her message of unity and preservation of tradition, while still celebrating diversity.
Columbia College Hollywood is beyond excited to see one of our Alumni rise to the occasion and put their work out into the world. Rachel’s dedication to her craft, confidence and clear vision is an example of the kind of filmmakers that the school helps to create.
